Mask
The Mask Series investigates the shifting boundaries between the inner self and the personas constructed for social survival. Using staged self-portraits, controlled lighting, and a variety of hand-made masks, the work visualizes the tension between visibility and concealment. Each mask represents a different emotional state or role, echoing how identity becomes layered, fragmented, and selectively revealed. Rather than exposing a “true” self, the series highlights how identity is continuously negotiated in response to environment, expectation, and pressure. Through minimal compositions and intimate framing, the images invite viewers to reflect on the masks they carry in their own lives.
